ITINERARY

Day 1 : CUSCO

You will be picked up from the airport and driven to your hostel or hotel (selected from our list shown below). You will have the remainder of the day to wander around or have a guided tour. (Please feel free to ask about our one day tours.)

Day 2 : CUSCO - VALLE SAGRADO - AGUAS CALIENTES (B), (L)

At 9:00a.m. you will start your guided group Sacred Valley of the Incas Tour, with other tourists. Your bilingual guide will take you through the amazing Urubamba Valley to the marketplace and ruins of Pisac. Afterwards, you will stop at a local restaurant to enjoy lunch (included in the package) and will then visit the native town of Ollantaytambo and its Ruins. In Ollantaytambo, you will take the backpacker train to Aguas Calientes, where you will stay the night at the hostel or hotel of your choice (selected from the list shown below). Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, you will be accommodated at your hotel.

Day 3 : AGUAS CALIENTES - MACHU PICCHU - AGUAS CALIENTES - CUSCO (B)

Today you will tour Machu Picchu (7875 feet above sea level ), either hiking there beginning at 4:30a.m. or taking a bus at about 6:30a.m. If you chose to hike, we will provide a snack. Your guided tour of Machu Picchu will last about two hours. After that you will have time to hike the Huayna Picchu Mountain or just wander around. In the afternoon, one or two hours before your train departure, you should take the bus down to Aguas Calientes, where you will take the Backpacker train to Poroy. Upon arrival, you will be driven to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 4 : CUSCO - PUERTO MALDONADO - TAMBOPATA (B), (L), (D)

Early in the morning we will pick up your from your hotel and then we will drive you to the airport in order to take a morning flight to Puerto Maldonado. Upon your arrival, you will have a short guided tour of the city and then you will take a motorboat along the river Madre de Dios until you arrive at the lodge where you will be installed in your bungalow and then you will enjoy lunch. Begin your trip by crossing the river to the only existing Monkey Island of its kind. At the island you will not only see the biggest diversity of monkeys but also a great diversity of flora. On return to the lodge you will observe a great sunset and then dinner will be served.

Day 5 : TAMBOPATA (B), (L), (D)

After breakfast, you will start an adventure in the virgin jungle. This journey will take you through a path to the deep jungle until you reach the LOST QOCHA where several species of animals refugee and feed. On the way, you will visit extraordinary watchtowers which have been built on to the branches of the biggest shihuanhuaco trees. The panoramic view of the ecosystem is amazing. Once back at the lodge, lunch will be served. You will have the remainder of the day to walk around the lodge or enjoy of the pool. Dinner will be served at about 7:00p.m. If possible, there will be a nighttime walk to the cave of the caimans.

Day 6 : TAMBOPATA – PUERTO MALDONADO - CUSCO (B)

Once breakfast is over, you will take a motorboat to Capitania Port. In Puerto Maldonado, your guide will take you to the airport, where you will take a plane to Cusco. End of our services.
