ITINERARY
Day 1 : Lima
You will be
picked up from the airport and driven to
your hostel or hotel in Miraflores (selected
from our list).

Day 2 : Lima – Chiclayo

You
will be picked up from your
hostel or hotel for a guided
city tour, which will include a
visit to downtown Lima; the
Cathedral, built in 1758; the
temple of San Francisco, which
is a masterpiece of baroque
architecture. During this tour
you will be able to observe
colonial, baroque, neoclassic,
and neo-colonial style buildings,
some of which are about 350
years old. After the tour, we
will pick you up from your hotel
in Lima and then we will drive
you to the airport of Lima in
order to take an afternoon
flight to Chiclayo. Upon your
arrival in Chiclayo, we will
drive you to your hotel. You
will have the remainder of the
day to relax or walk around
downtown. You will spend the
night at the hotel of your
choice.
Day 3 : Chiclayo
(B)
At about
10:15a.m., we will pick you up from your
hotel in order to start a full day tour
around the main attractions of Chiclayo.
Your first visit will be the Museum of
Huaca Rajada located in the town of
Sipan. At this museum you will be able
to observe several artifacts and tombs
of the Mochica Culture which ruled North
Peru about 1700 years ago. After
visiting the museum, you will visit the
pyramids where the Lord of Sipan was
found. Nowadays, archeologists are still
searching for more tombs.
At about
1:00p.m., you will be taken to a local
restaurant in order to enjoy lunch (which
is not included in the itinerary). After
lunch, you will visit Tucume where you
will observe several pyramids made out
of mud hundreds of years ago. Your day
will end with a visit to the Royal Tombs
of Sipan Museum where you will be able
to observe the original artifacts and
remains of the different Lords of Sipan.
This exhibition will amuse you. You will
be back at your hotel at about 6:30p.m.
You will spend the night at the hotel of
your choice.
Day 4 : Chiclayo – Lima –
Cusco

Early
in the morning we will pick you
up from your hotel and then we
will drive you to the airport of
Chiclayo in order to take a
flight to Lima. Once in Lima you
will take a connecting flight to
Cusco. Upon your arrival in
Cusco we will drive you to your
hotel. You will have the
remainder of the day to relax or
just wander around Cusco. You
will spend the night at the
hotel of your choice.
Day 5 : Cusco

At 2:00 p.m.
you will start your guided group City
Tour. Your bilingual guide will take you
to the Cathedral of Cusco, founded in
1669. After that, you will visit the
Temple of Qoricacancha or the Convent of
Santa Catalina to observe Inca and
Colonial buildings. Next, you will visit
the Inca ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo,
Puka Pukara, and Tambomachay. The tour
will end at about 6:00p.m. You will stay
downtown overnight at your hostel or
hotel.
Day 6 : Cusco – Sacred Valley –
Aguas Calientes

At 9:00a.m.
you will start your guided group Sacred
Valley of the Incas Tour, which will
take you through the amazing Urubamba
Valley to the marketplace and ruins of
Pisac. Afterwards, you will stop at a
local restaurant to enjoy lunch (not
included in the package) and will then
visit the native town of Ollantaytambo
and its ruins. After the tour, you will take backpacker train to
Aguas Calientes, where you will stay the
night at the hostel or hotel of your
choice (selected from our list shown
below).
Today a two
hour guided tour of Machu Picchu will
show you why it was voted one of the
Seven Wonders of the World. After your
tour, you will have plenty of time to
hike the Huayna Picchu Mountain or just
wander around at your leisure. In the
afternoon, one or two hours before your
train departure, you should take the bus
down to Aguas Calientes, where you will
take the backpacker train to Poroy.* Upon arrival in
Poroy, you
will be driven to your hostel or hotel.
*If there are
no train tickets available for the
listed train (sometimes tickets are sold
out several months in advance), you will
take the backpacker train from Aguas
Calientes to Ollantaytambo. From Ollantaytambo, you will be driven
to your hotel in Cusco. If this issue
arises, we will inform you within one
month prior to your departure date.
Day 8 : Cusco – Lima

Today you will
be picked up from your hostel or hotel
and taken to Cusco’s airport for your
flight to Lima.
